Felicity Panas is a passionate advocate for major gift fundraising and has dedicated much of her life to helping nonprofits thrive. Originally from New Zealand, Felicity’s journey has taken her across the globe and deep into the heart of philanthropy.
After growing up and completing her education in New Zealand, Felicity ventured to the UK for two enriching years between 1968 and 1970. Returning home at the end of 1970, she dove into marketing with the New Zealand Wool Board, honing skills she would carry with her throughout her career.
Her adventure took a pivotal turn when she moved to the United States in 1973. The following year, she married Jerold Panas, marking the beginning of a profound partnership both personally and professionally. By 1980, Felicity had joined the team at Jerold Panas, Linzy & Partners, where she spearheaded the production and publication of "Prime Time," an innovative healthcare newsletter for audiences aged 55 and older, reaching hospitals nationwide in an era just before desktop publishing revolutionized the industry.
In 1991, Felicity began collaborating closely with Jerold Panas and William Sturtevant as they founded the Institute for Charitable Giving. Over the decades, she played a pivotal role in organizing and producing acclaimed major gift fundraising seminars. Following the passing of Jerry and Bill, Felicity continued to lead the Institute, guiding countless nonprofit professionals until May 2025, when she transitioned the organization to Fundraising Transformed, an internationally recognized fundraising training and consulting firm.
Today, Felicity continues her legacy as a Strategic Advisor at the Modern Institute for Charitable Giving, bringing decades of wisdom and warmth to a new generation of fundraisers. Additionally, her commitment to philanthropy extends to her board service, notably on the development committees for the Cathedral Schools for Boys in San Francisco and the American College of Greece in Athens.
Through her ongoing contributions, Felicity remains a vibrant force, inspiring and empowering others to transform their organizations and communities.
